| SEAL
COAST SAFARI
The adventure
starts here!!
Feel
the sun on your face on a
Seal Coast Safari.
You will connect with the ‘real
New Zealand’ as we drive
for 20 rugged kilometres along the beach, over rocks, around the
bays and headlands, with the ocean lapping the 4WDs. You will be
delighted to come up ‘close and personal’ to our colony
of New Zealand fur seals and you will be delighted just to walk
amongst them, or to just observe - say 'hi' to them, look them
in the eye, enjoy their native habitat along with them, as you
experience the crashing waves and the famous Leaning Lighthouse
of Wellington.
To
get to the seals we climb in the vehicles (we call them "Sealmobiles")
up and over a fault-line, and we have privileged access through
a farm where we come face to face with wild goats, ostriches,
and maybe wild horses. You will be gob-smacked by the spectacular
views of the City, the South Island, both the Pacific and Tasman
oceans and distant snow-capped mountain ranges. Finally the tour
also visits the Brooklyn Wind Turbine, with more stunning views
of the City, harbour and surrounding hills. Almost all of the
3-hour safari is on restricted or unmarked private roads or tracks.
This means there are no crowds, only the people on the trip for
much of the safari.
One seasoned traveller described it as 'the best mini-tour of my
life' and an international travel writer from Sweden said it was
her 'best New Zealand experience'. Try it for yourself.
