We are committed as anyone to "saving the planet"!

1 – The Bad News
Carbon dioxide is a ‘Green-house’ gas – that is, one that helps form a blanket of gases around the world. That blanket of gases makes it difficult for naturally occurring heat to escape into the stratosphere.  If the heat cannot escape effectively, then the whole world gradually warms up, and we experience the phenomenon known as ‘global warming’.  The theory is that global warming will increase the volume of water in the world, amongst other things, which could have catastrophic effects for future generations of humans, although the fish would be very happy.  Seal Coast Safari, in its normal operation as a tour company produces carbon when the Seal Coast Safari vehicles undertake a safari. It is a chemical reaction that cannot be avoided - to make the engine go, the diesel is burned, and carbon dioxide is formed.

2 – The Good News
As any school-boy or school-girl knows, plants absorb CO2 (carbon dioxide).  Planting a tree in a place where no tree grew before will add to the world an effective carbon dioxide absorber.  A tree throughout its lifetime will normally absorb one tonne of carbon, as it absorbs the carbon dioxide it needs to live.
